Jane was already a musician for ten years before she began to make and repair instruments. That was more than thirty-five years ago and although she's ventured into other crafts such as boat-building and furniture making she's always kept a small shop going just for stringed instruments. "I became aware of the spiritual nature of wood early on and especially as it related to making stringed instruments. The physics of sound reproduction has always fascinated me as well and when you put the two together, something very special is created. I was also lucky to meet some exceptional mentors along the path and I owe much to them." Jane is the resident violin guru at the Coop as well. Jane continues to make custom banjos, mandolins and guitars whenever she can along with the seemingly endless repairs and restorations. She teaches banjo, fiddle, mandolin and guitar.
